In this difficult economy, you and I both know that our work to end abortion and euthanasia cannot stop. We have made great inroads in the culture as we bring our pro-life message to hundreds of thousands of individuals across the country and around the world. Here are just a few highlights:

High School Curriculum

Last year we kicked off the Campaign for Healing the Culture, with the development of a high school curriculum as our first priority. Our staff spent several months assessing four years of data from high school presentations, materials, student feedback, and teacher evaluations. After consulting with one of the most respected national authorities in curriculum development, we created our first piece, a scripted dialogue on truth, personhood, and definition theory, called "Robert and Emma." "...enough information to persuade anybody on either side of the abortion issue."

2008 National Conference

Another priority of our Campaign is the 2008 Healing the Culture Conference and Expo. After receiving a $17,000 grant from the Sanctity of Life Foundation, we are now able to offer a world-class national conference at an affordable rate to train hundreds of pro-life leaders and activists in the Life Principles curriculum. The conference will take place at the Hilton Bellevue, November 6-8. If you haven't already registered, please do! "The most important conference I have ever attended in my life."
-- 2006 Conference Delegate

First Class Website

A strong web presence is essential to getting our message out. Many of our partners and constituents rely on our website for educational print, audio, video, and visual tools for use in schools, churches, organizations, and homes. In addition, there are many individuals who happen upon our website while researching various topics. Our original website quickly outgrew its functionality as the number of pages grew to over 100, and demand increased for more downloadable tools and audio-visual resources. Last year we wrote new content, added video and other visual aids, and improved the overall capabilities of the website, giving it a brand new look and feel that will last well into the future. "I am researching Alzheimer's disease for my Ph.D. While web-surfing to find definitions of personhood, I came across your website, and am thoroughly impressed. Particularly I appreciate the four levels."
-- Dawn Lea University Student

Educational Partners

One of our greatest strengths is our natural ability to form collaborative partnerships with like-minded groups. Several recent partnerships have been especially fruitful.

The Pathos Project contracts with us to present a full-day training seminar for course credit at the University of Notre Dame. Students continue to submit outstanding and very moving evaluations, proving that this project will have a tremendous impact on the medical profession as these students become
future doctors. Planning is underway to produce DVDs so that we can duplicate the program in universities across the United States.

Salt&Light Television is a religious Canadian television network. After receiving a copy of our "Finding Peace" video series, S&L requested permission to broadcast the series. It began airing October 16. In exchange for using our content, S&L produced two 60-second television commercials advertising our upcoming conference and our organization/website.
"Healing the Culture has left an impact on me that will last through my entire medical career. I don't think I would have truly understood the word 'compassion,' had it not been for my 'Being With' experience."
-- Pre-Med Student University of Notre Dame

Facilitator Program

Many individuals want to help teach the Life Principles in their own communities. Last year we completed an online Facilitator's Guidebook. Facilitators purchase video and DVD programs online, and receive instruction in the online manual for holding video classes. "We're going to use your 'Finding Peace' videos in our church. It was the most incredible series I've ever watched."
-- Lisa H.

Speaking and Training

Last year we reached over 3,800 individuals with Life Principles training and live presentations. To raise awareness about our organization and its mission, Healing the Culture embarked on a new e-marketing and direct mail strategy. Large colorful postcards were sent to thousands of churches and households promoting some of our most popular resources. A bimonthly e-newsletter features commentary on current issues. "I didn't like the thought of bringing unwanted children into the world, but your dialog makes sense and may be changing my mind about abortion."
-- Laurie

Friends, so much good is happening, and there is still so much to do. Together we can put an end to abortion, euthanasia, and other threats to human life. Your faithful giving is more urgent now than ever before. Whatever size gift you are able to give, God will bless and magnify our efforts. We need your help. Thank you for your continued commitment and generosity!
